Founder and Company Director: Mark Watson

Is routinely described as ‘comedy’s busiest man’. He is one of the country’s best-regarded comedians, the recipient of half-a-dozen major awards, among the biggest-selling acts at the Edinburgh and Melbourne festivals, and routinely tours the UK performing at hundreds of venues every year (produced by Impatient). He's appeared on literally dozens of TV shows, but is perhaps best known for QI (BBC1); Taskmaster (Dave); The Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls (C4); Live At The Apollo (BBC1). He’s guested regularly on Mock The Week (BBC1) and all the usual panel shows, and hosted cult quiz We Need Answers (BBC4) which has recently seen related spin-off No More Jockeys hit hundreds of thousands of views on its own YouTube channel.  He has also written and performed numerous series of his own critically acclaimed Radio 4 show, and for numerous TV projects including A Child’s Christmases In Wales for BBC4 (which won a Celtic Media Award).

He is also the author of nine books, published in twelve languages, with an tenth to be released in 2025, and one of which – Dan And Sam – has been optioned for a motion picture by Universal.  His extensive writing CV most recently includes The Best Of, an adapted screenplay with Toni Colette, and a musical adaptation of Anna Karenina in collaboration with legendary composer Howard Goodall CBE.  He also wrote and co-produced the 13-part series Mark Watson's Comedy Marathon for Audible and, in February 2019, performed a 26-hour comedy show to promote it.  To cement the 'busiest man in comedy' thing, he performed three of these legendary marathon shows during lockdown, again raising money for various charities. He has just finished a 100 date tour of the UK with his recent show, Search, with another already in the books for 2025. He plans to have a nice sit down in 2027.

Founder and Managing Director: Lianne Coop

Has also been pretty busy. She was an in-house comedy producer for BBC Radio Comedy for 10 years, producing many well-loved scripted comedy shows with a large range of household-name comedians (including series with Mark Watson, Lee Mack, Sarah Millican, Rhod Gilbert, Isy Suttie, Alan Carr, Tim Minchin, and a resurrection of the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2011 and 2012, a nationwide search for new comedians with production which spanned live events, online film, radio and Red Button broadcast with live voting) before setting up Impatient with Mark in 2013.

She has since led Impatient at the helm, developing our live touring presence, securing and head producing across all of Impatient’s live tours, Edinburgh Fringe runs (which continue to build year on year), international tours including our first New York run with Julia Masli and West End run with Ruby Wax in 2024. She continues to have one foot in audio and has developed and produced numerous Radio 4 and podcast series through Impatient as an Indie, including multiple series of Mark’s own long-running show Mark Watson Talks A Bit About LifeElephant In The Room with Sarah Millican; Passport Paddy with Zoe Lyons, recorded on location in Ireland; Angela Barnes’ You Can’t Take It With You; Josie Long’s What Now?; Jen Brister’s Waves; The Price of Happiness with Kate Fox, Aurie Styla’s Tech Talk and Coaches, a sitcom starring Sara Pascoe and Paapa Esseidu; and podcasts The Andy Field Experience (Radio 1); Mark Watson’s Comedy Marathon, a 13-part original podcast series for Audible; and launched WTB with Jen Brister and menkind with Mark Watson and Michael Chakraverty. She continues to build the company from strength to strength with the help of the utter legends on this page.

Production Executive: Siren Turner

With the occasional witty one-liner and that northern sing-songy thing that Victoria Wood made famous, and combining her love for live performance and a tendency towards OCD in the organisation stakes, Siren has worked happily at Impatient since April 2016 and continues to be inspired by funny bones and comedic brains.

Alongside Mark’s UK tours Siren has coordinated UK-wide tours for Gary Delaney, Justin Moorhouse, Shaparak Khorsandi, Josie Long, Zoe Lyons, John-Luke Roberts, Alison Spittle, Shelf and Laura Lexx. She has assisted Mark and Lianne in producing several radio shows for Radio 4 -  Mark Watson Talks A Bit About Life,  Angela Barnes: You Can’t Take It With You, Josie Long’s What Now?; Jen Brister’s Waves; Ria Lina: School of Riason, Kate Fox: The Price of Happiness - and has produced Mike Bubbins: Retrosexual and Aurie Styla: Tech Talk as well as podcast Altered Fates.

Creative Executive Producer: Maddy Bye

For almost a decade, Maddy Bye has been producing live comedy across the UK, at the Edinburgh Fringe and internationally. It's safe to say that Maddy has a fully fledged obsession with live comedy. She has a key interest in pioneering new and innovative ways to keep the comedy scene alive, and is always on the hunt for exciting, emerging acts and performers. She cartwheeled into comedy production after receiving her "degree" from the Parisian Clown School, Ecole Philippe Gaulier. She has worked across the comedy world: in comedy PR agencies, putting on alternative comedy nights, creating LMAOnaise Magazine with Zoe Paskett, and notably forming and performing in the award-winning, character comedy double act 'Siblings'.

Alongside Mark Watson's UK tour she has worked with Impatient in producing Ruby Wax, Reverend Richard Coles, Zoe Lyons, Shelf and Julia Masli and Viggo Venn internationally as well as the roster at Soho Theatre, in venues around the UK and at the Edinburgh Fringe.
